EHR device selection, device deployment, and associated network readiness is no joke. Add in biomedical devices and things gain complexity. I hope nobody feels it is as simple as: Purchase X. Install X. Perhaps in a green field environment.
If you are embarking on a new EHR initiative make sure these items are FULLY baked into your project plan. It seems like infrastructure is often left behind and appropriate road maps are lacking. Don't leave folks driving blind in a vacuum - regardless of how good their driving skills are!
